What You Do

This position within Allianz Investment Management (AIM) Finance and Operations team offers a unique opportunity to blend accounting and operations with investment management. As a Financial Operations Senior Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth financial operations of AIM. You will be responsible for processing and managing payments of vendor and asset manager invoices, validating fees, and accurately calculating accruals for asset management fees and client revenues.

You will handle client invoicing, collaborate on the annual operating budget process, providing insights and analysis, and monitor actual expenses compared to budgeted expenses, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions to optimize financial performance. A significant component of the role involves assisting with the operations oversight of external asset managers, which includes reviewing and monitoring their operational performance, asset manager fees, and incentive allocation.

You will report to the AIM AVP – Investment Operations.

This position requires a strong understanding of accounting and reporting principles, investment management concepts, and financial markets, along with a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Responsible for processing vendor invoices timely and accurately in partnership with Allianz Treasury.
  • Calculate and report monthly expenses and revenues for AIM to Allianz Life, ensuring precision and timeliness.
  • Prepare and submit client billings monthly and quarterly as applicable.
  • Collaborate with Allianz Life Corporate Finance to analyze budget and spending, providing insights for strategic decision‑making.
  • Analyze and report monthly actuals against budget, identifying variances and recommending actions.
  • Monitor and track project expenses against approved plans and budgets, ensuring financial discipline.
  • Assist with the operations oversight of external asset managers, including review of fees and incentive allocation.
  • Ensure vendor invoicing aligns with vendor contracts.
  • Understand and maintain financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimize processes and operations.
  • Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI).
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1+ years’ experience in the financial industry.
  • Experience with reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, general ledger/financial reporting.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, critical thinking skills, with attention to details.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have basic to high proficiency with AI and/or business intelligence.
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship now or in the future. This includes holders of H-1B, H4, L-1, L-2, TN, OPT, CPT, and other nonimmigrant visas.

Job posting range: $63,500 - $110,000
