Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on a contract basis. This role requires a candidate with a strong attention to detail and a solid background in financial reporting, accounting systems, and compliance. You will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting various accounting functions essential to the organization's operations.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reporting packages, including corporate financial statements and departmental reports.

- Customize and troubleshoot Sage Intacct financial reports to meet the needs of various stakeholders, including Finance and Administration teams.

- Execute journal entries, oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, and reconcile balance sheet accounts.

- Review the work of less experienced accounting staff, providing guidance and training as necessary.

- Analyze investment activities, including earnings allocations and the preparation of realized and unrealized gains and losses schedules.

- Maintain and update fixed asset records within designated accounting systems.

- Collaborate with the Finance Systems Manager to support financial systems and integrations.

- Prepare audit schedules and assist with annual audit processes, including 990 filing preparation as applicable.

- Address complex data resolution issues and contribute to annual budget preparation and uploads.

- Ensure compliance with internal controls, process documentation, and financial accuracy throughout all accounting activities. Requirements - Proven experience managing month-end close processes and journal entries.

- Proficiency in general ledger and account reconciliation tasks.

- Advanced knowledge of Sage Intacct and Microsoft Excel.

- Strong skills in fixed asset management and financial reporting.

- Experience preparing corporate financial statements and monthly financial reports.

- Ability to reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare accurate audit schedules.

- Familiarity with budget processes and data uploads.

- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining compliance with internal controls and accuracy.
