Responsibilities

  • Develop written internal and external marketing on pitch material.
  • Support deal teams in development, presentation, and winning mandates.
  • Seek to develop an understanding of client needs and outcomes.
  • Provide materials to support an outstanding client experience.
  • Identify opportunities for increased efficiency and improved service to internal and external clients.
  • Provide analytical findings to deal teams.
  • Support the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment between stakeholders.
  • Research and analyze company and industry financial and operating information.
  • Perform complex financial modeling and run valuation analysis as part of client/industry evaluations.
  • Create statistical exhibits and financial performance trend analysis for client presentations.
  • Prepare industry compilations.
  • Complete quality reports/analyses.
  • Apply technical concepts and understand the implication of work to client/transaction.
  • Develop an understanding of and proficiency in using all required systems and models.
  • Participate in defining the communication plan designed to positively influence or change behaviour, develop tailored messaging, and identify appropriate distribution channels.
  • Provide feedback on, and support continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Integrate information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis, and/or streamlined reporting.
  • Deliver financial modeling to support strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Consider risk, internal controls and compliance as part of day‑to‑day accountabilities and adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Focus may be on a business/group.
  • Think creatively and propose new solutions.
  • Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  • Work mostly independently.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
  • Take measured risks while protecting the bank by applying our Risk Management Framework in the execution of the role, in line with our Risk Culture and within our approved Risk Appetite, making sound and risk‑informed decisions that align to business strategy, protect assets, and adhere to applicable policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Typically between 3-5 years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An undergraduate degree with academic coursework in finance, economics, or accounting with outstanding academic achievement.
  • Financial analysis training and experience.
  • 0-3 years of successive relevant experience within investment and/or corporate banking.
  • Show initiative, prioritize work, and multi‑task effectively.
  • Be highly skilled in building complex financial models.
  • Have expertise in using financial computer applications and database management tools.
  • Be skilled in creating statistical presentations.
  • Be creative, insightful, and resourceful.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills within a demanding team environment.
  • Have a strong ability to review and assess detailed information daily on multiple projects in an organized manner.
  • Work independently within a team environment.
  • Possess specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.
  • Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills at an in‑depth level.

Salary and Benefits

Salary:
Salaried. The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
