Overview
The Grants Accountant preparesaccurateandtimelyfinancialreporting for assigned grants. This role ensures compliance with grant requirements, Ameri Corps regulations, OMB/2 CFR
200, GAAP, FASB standards, applicable laws, and internal controls. Strict confidentiality of all accounting, payroll, employee, member, and organizational information is required.
Must be located in one of the following states - Minnesota, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Mississippi, New York, Virginia or Wisconsin
Responsibilities- Grant Invoicing
- Producetimelyandaccurateinvoiceswith adherence to the requirements set forthfor each assigned grant
- Maintain knowledgebaseofall requirements for assigned grants.
- Monitor budget-to-actual performance forassignedgrants and communicate needed adjustments to program and accounting staff to ensure appropriate spend-down.
- Ensure compliance with all financial grant requirements, including OMB/2 CFR
200 and grant specific terms.
- Grant Reporting
- Prepareaccurateandtimelygrant expenditure reports and financial reporting for government, corporate, and foundation grants.
- Review grantallocations details toensurealignment with spend-downstrategies.
- Verify accuracy of grant revenue and expenses by funder.
- Manage Accounting Processes
- Monitor Expense allocations to ensure cost areappropriatelyapplies.
- Review accounting transactions for proper coding, grant application, and allowability to reduce risk of disallowed costs.
- Complete required tasks supportingyear-endand other financial monitoring activities
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Minimum Education
- Degree in accounting or 1-2 years working in an accounting role
- Minimum Experience
- 1-2 years of experience innon profit accounting
- Accuracy and time management skills
- Net Suite or equivalent system experience
- Physical Requirements
- Travel locally and statewide as needed to attend meetings
- Communicate effectively with people/groups in multiple settings within and outside the organization
- Effectivelyutilizeexisting and emerging technology to achieve required results
- Transporting of moderately heavy objects up to 25 pounds
