Role Overview
Brown & Brown is seeking a Health Actuarial Senior Consultant to join our growing team. The consultant assists Benefit Consultants in servicing the financial consulting needs of employee benefit clients. The role includes evaluating financial and utilization metrics for clients including cost projections, plan design modeling, monthly financial reports, and other ad‑hoc reports and analysis. It is a client‑facing role that involves presentations at client functions and meetings.
Responsibilities- Perform financial/underwriting, renewal, and marketing analysis, including financial projections, large claim analysis, specific stop‑loss analysis, demographic analysis, IBNR, etc.
- Work with the team to develop and present financial deliverables that address current and future client needs and requests.
- Assist in development, review, and presentation of data analytics.
- Participate in prospective client finalist presentations to represent the financial strategy and role expectations.
- Provide demographic analysis, claims reviews, and other projects to support the sales team.
- Oversee monthly financial reports and client exhibits for Financial Analysts and large claim details as needed.
- Maintain proficient knowledge of compliance and regulations in the benefits arena.
- Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics.
- At least 5 years of employee benefits financial experience.
- Active Life/Accident & Health Insurance Agent License or ability to obtain one within a year of employment.
- Expert level proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, excellent verbal and written communication, and work independently.
- Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Proactive approach to meeting client financial requirements and sense of urgency.
$100,000 - $150,000 annually.
