About the Role
Make a difference. As a Financial Trainee, you will prepare for a functional or managerial role within the Financial Department and gain work experience and exposure to various functions and business units throughout the Company. You will assist in attaining the objectives of the Financial Department consistent with sound credit evaluation, safety, and control as described in Best Practices.
Responsibilities- Handle customer accounts as assigned by Director Finance or Financial Manager.
- Obtain credit information, reports, and other necessary information to effectively evaluate prospective customers.
- Handle routine correspondence, telephone calls, form letters, etc.
- Set up files and secure necessary job information; obtain approvals on job information from Financial Manager.
- Maintain collection, credit, and job files as directed; safeguard records according to record‑retention policies; assist with file scanning and attaching as directed.
- Initiate account setup as directed by Financial Manager or Director Finance.
- Assist in collection efforts by phone, in person, or through correspondence; maintain notes as required in SAP.
- Gain a working knowledge of all responsibilities and duties of the Financial Department.
- Complete assigned training, development activities and educational programs in an accurate and timely manner.
- Participate in special projects and meet tight and changing deadlines as required.
- Learn the fundamentals of the Company’s business, and demonstrate proficiency in Financial Department‑related activities.
- Research, discuss, and recommend best practices for the Financial Department.
- Develop an understanding of the continuous improvement process and participate in various initiatives.
- 4‑year degree required, preference for Business and Finance coursework.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of continuous improvement techniques and practices.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization and in a team‑based environment.
- Ability to work effectively with external customers, suppliers, and vendors.
- Analytical, conceptual, and problem‑solving skills.
- Planning, organizational, and time‑management skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced working environment.
- Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and supervise others.
- Self‑motivation, business orientation, flexibility, and accountability.
- Willingness and ability to relocate (preferred).
Monday – Friday, 7:30a.m. – 4:30p.m., in office.
Compensation DetailsThe expected pay rate for this position starts at $23.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
