Perform analysis and research supporting recommendations for private fund investments (e.g., private debt, ABF, etc.) as part of the broader AIM US Investment Management function. Areas of focus include:
- Complete asset class research, financial modeling and due diligence with particular focus on private debt and ABF products from the perspective of relative value, capital efficiency and risk assessment for the insurance balance sheet, both in-force exposures and prospective investments.
- Prepare asset class reports and assist in quarterly fund review process; support the preparation and sharing of investment narratives within AIM and external stakeholders in collaboration with other investment management functions.
- Collaborate with portfolio allocators on investment recommendations within structured products and private debt sub-sectors, with view on Strategic Asset Allocation, portfolio fit, capital consumption, liquidity, and excess returns.
- Coordinate cross-functionally and support manager selection, due diligence, legal document review and operational execution for new strategies.
- Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI).
Minimum 2-3 years of relevant investment experience at insurance company, asset manager or bank; demonstrated skills in alternative assets research and analysis
Advanced experience in Excel and financial modeling; coding experience a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (story-telling ability with market and portfolio data) to support growth of rated notes and alternative assets allocations
Relevant investment systems experience for alternative assets modeling (e.g., Bloomberg, Aladdin, Preqin or CapitalIQ)
Willingness for some travel to accommodate due diligence and oversight
4yr degree required: accounting, finance, economics or related field
