Environmental Finance Senior Portfolio Servicing Analyst
U.S. Bank is currently seeking a strong candidate to join our growing team of Infrastructure finance professionals as an Environmental Finance Senior Portfolio Servicing Analyst. The Senior Portfolio Financial Analyst works independently with little direction from Portfolio Servicing Manager providing financial performance analysis, risk assessment support, and compliance monitoring for a portfolio of U.S. Bank tax credit investments and loans.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for tracking, reviewing, and inputting annual operating budgets, quarterly financial statements, annual financial audits, as well as other required compliance reporting into internal U.S. Bank data systems
- Provide financial performance analysis, risk assessment support, operational performance analysis, and compliance monitoring for a portfolio of U.S. Bank tax credit investments and loans
- Ability to critically think to interpret and input information into our U.S. Bank systems data fields before further analyzing performance and/or compliance
- Engage as front-line contact with customers and investment partners to coordinate communication, requests for information, and financial and operational reporting
- Interact with internal and external customers and project sponsors regarding partnership reporting requirements and programmatic compliance with the Renewable Energy Tax Credit (RETC) programs
- Effectively communicate financial, compliance, and operational performance to the Environmental Finance Asset Management team for a complex portfolio (including debt service coverage analysis, variance analysis, analysis of investment guarantors, compliance, and reporting requirements).
- Support a variety of internal parties, including but not limited to asset manager, project manager, syndication fund manager, transition management, tax analyst
- Support the onboarding, scheduling, and continuous monitoring of internal U.S. Bank data systems
- Participate in special projects, including the development and revision of internal process and procedures
- Serves as a mentor to peers, assisting in continuous training and development of employees
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically a bachelor's degree with emphasis in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Taxation, or equivalent work experience
- Three to five years of experience in financial analysis activities
Preferred Skills/
Experience:
- Knowledge of Environmental Finance preferred
- Advanced knowledge of financial principles and capable of reading and interpreting financial statements of partnerships, corporations, and individuals
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to identify and resolve/escalate complex problems with minimal guidance
- Proficient Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with relational database
- Experience and technical knowledge of tax credit financing is preferred
- High attention to detail with the ability to interpret data and identify and resolve exceptions
Location Expectations The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
