Wealth Planning Associate, RBC Advantage
This is a developmental wealth planning role designed to build technical planning knowledge, client-service skills, and confidence in supporting Financial Advisors and clients within RBC Advantage.
What You’ll Be Responsible ForAs a Wealth Planning Associate supporting RBC Advantage, you will assist Financial Advisors and planning partners with paraplanning and client-service responsibilities, including:
- Supporting pre-client meeting preparation, including agendas, planning summaries, and client materials
- Gathering and organizing client information needed for financial plan construction
- Assisting with data input, reconciliation, and analysis in Money Guide Pro and related planning tools
- Preparing financial planning analyses and supporting materials for clients and prospects
- Helping prepare retirement, education funding, estate planning, insurance, risk management, and goals-based planning scenarios
- Supporting post-meeting follow-up, including meeting notes, action items, and implementation tracking
- Assisting clients and advisors with online client portals and planning technology
- Coordinating with Financial Advisors, planning partners, and internal teams to help move planning work forward
- Participating in training, case studies, planning reviews, team meetings, and developmental assignments
- Supporting RBC Advantage planning initiatives, projects, and workflow improvements as needed
- Delivering accurate, timely, and professional work with a strong focus on follow-through and client service
This role is designed to help you build the foundation for a successful career in wealth planning and financial advice. Through formal training, hands-on experience, and day-to-day coaching, you will develop skills in:
- RBC’s goals-based wealth planning methodology
- Money Guide Pro and related planning tools
- Client data gathering and plan construction
- Financial planning concepts and analysis
- Advisor and client meeting preparation
- Client communication and service standards
- Planning workflow management and prioritization
- Working effectively across teams in a fast-paced wealth management environment
Over time, you will be expected to take on increasing responsibility, build confidence in planning conversations, and develop the judgment needed to support Financial Advisors and clients more independently.

Required
- Four-year degree in business, finance, economics, personal financial planning, or a similarly relevant field
- Series 7 and Series 66 licenses, or Series 7 and Series 63/65, or willingness to obtain required licenses within six months of hire
- Interest in pursuing an accredited wealth planning designation, with CFP® preferred
- Strong interest in financial planning, wealth management, and client service
- Excellent written, verbal, listening, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Professional demeanor and strong service orientation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to multiple technology platforms

- Internship or professional experience in financial services, wealth management, banking, investments, client service, or a related field
