Role DescriptionThe Financial Coach is a part‑time, remote. This role involves meeting with clients regularly to assess their financial situation, clarify goals, and develop step‑by‑step plans for budgeting, saving, debt reduction, and building financial resilience, primarily for retirement. The Financial Coach will provide financial education in accessible language, guide clients in implementing personal finance strategies, and track progress over time. Day‑to‑day tasks include conducting coaching sessions, preparing personalized materials, maintaining accurate client records, and collaborating on workshops or group sessions as needed.
The role also requires ongoing professional development to stay current with financial trends, tools, and best practices, while maintaining a non‑judgmental and confidential coaching environment.
- Candidates should possess strong Financial Services experience (banking, insurance, investments) and Financial Education skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in clear, practical terms.
- Candidates should possess skills in Financial Planning and Personal Finance to help clients create realistic budgets, savings plans, and debt management strategies.
- Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Finance, including understanding of credit, interest, investing basics, and risk management.
- Experience in one‑on‑one coaching, counseling, or advisory roles, preferably in a financial or client‑facing setting.
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respect for diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple client relationships and follow‑up actions.
- Relevant prior work experience in personal banking, tax preparation, personal insurance or investment management required.
- Comfort working remotely, and willingness to occasionally support workshops or community events outside standard hours if needed.
- Active social media account with 2,000+ followers.
