The Manager, General Ledger provides leadership/daily work direction to GL team. Ensures financial controls are appropriately used in gathering financial data for Operations/Capital transactions. Verifies necessary financial controls/procedures are being used to gather information for financial reports.
• Provide leadership/direction to GL team in development of the Council's Comprehensive Financial Report, State Audit, Federal/State reporting for grant monies and internal management and financial reports.
• Lead staff on accounting activities (month-end/year-end close, reconciliation of external data to general ledger, grant accounting, internal/external reporting, capital asset accounting, payroll accounting, and journal entries.
• Act as primary advisor for financial theory GASB's and document effects statements have on the Council's financials. Communicate to all areas of impact.
• Monitor compliance with legal/policy requirements/effectiveness of internal controls in our systems/practices. Monitor new financial policies that need to be in place for the GL team.
• Develop goals and benchmarks to evaluate individual performance.
