Hyatt Regency Minneapolis seeks a Finance leader who demonstrates a growth mindset and is ready to grow their career, supporting the Director of Finance in overseeing day‑to‑day operations and contributing to strategic financial planning to deliver on key priorities for all stakeholders in achieving business objectives. The Assistant Director of Finance supports the Director of Finance in overseeing all financial operations of the hotel, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to financial regulations and standards.
Responsibilities- Prepare and review all journal entries, month‑end reports, and reconciliations.
- Review preliminary financial statements with the Director of Finance.
- Participate in monthly financial reviews and support the Director of Finance with the presentation of these reports.
- Supervise Finance and Procurement staff, as well as the Information Technology functions of the hotel, including coaching, counseling, interviewing, training, and evaluating performance of staff.
- Manage and help oversee hotel on‑ and off‑site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting, and analysis for the hotel.
- Handle systems administration, G/L account reconciliations, budget preparations, inventories, monthly closings, and full P&L responsibility.
- Assist with managing and ensuring SOX compliance—monitor internal controls and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Manage the audit process—participate in and respond to auditor requests to ensure total hotel compliance.
- Help prepare all monthly and annual financial statements; investigate, review and analyze variance explanations, involving the department staff in this process.
- Proactively manage troubleshooting for relevant cost controls and revenue enhancements.
- Support the Director of Finance with special reporting and ad hoc analysis.
- 3 years or more of finance career progression; preferred experience in hospitality, retail, or related industry.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, Business or related field preferred.
- Experience supervising or directing staff members.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
