This position supports Regulatory Capital Management within Corporate Treasury. The Financial Analyst is responsible for month-end capital reporting and analysis, monitoring peer capital management trends and industry developments, supporting risk-weighted asset (RWA) forecasting and variance analysis, assisting with regulatory stress testing activities, and developing and maintaining supporting documentation. The role partners closely with Finance and Treasury stakeholders to support capital planning, forecasting, regulatory reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, analyze, and present reporting materials throughout the month-end close process.
  • Review actual results against forecasts, investigate variances, and provide clear explanations and insights.
  • Partner with External Reporting and Management Reporting Operations teams to identify, resolve, and communicate reporting issues.
  • Monitor and analyze peer bank capital management trends and industry developments and prepare summary reports and presentations for management.
  • Support risk-weighted asset (RWA) forecasting through preparation of variance analyses, maintenance of forecasting support files, investigation of key drivers, and development of management reporting materials.
  • Support regulatory stress testing activities, including CCAR forecasting, reporting, analysis, and documentation.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance process documentation, methodologies, and controls related to capital management activities.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and special projects as requested.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically three or more years of related experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Prior finance experience, ideally within banking or a financial institution
  • Financial analyst or accounting background with strong analytical experience
  • Exposure to capital, RWA, treasury, regulatory reporting, or forecasting preferred but not required
  • Strong Excel skills, including experience analyzing data, preparing variance analysis, and supporting financial reporting
  • Working knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting, planning, and general accounting procedures
  • Ability to identify drivers of change, resolve exceptions, and reconcile financial data
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, visualization tools, or S-Base
  • Master's degree preferred

Location Expectations:

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
