AML Manager

Description

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join a long-term contract opportunity. This role is suited for someone who is detail oriented and can assess financial activity, identify unusual patterns, and make sound decisions based on detailed case reviews. The ideal candidate brings a strong analytical mindset, clear written communication, and the ability to work independently in a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities:

- Review financial alerts and case materials to assess activity and determine whether additional investigation is warranted.

- Analyze transactional information and supporting documentation to identify irregular behavior, emerging risks, or potential financial crime indicators.

- Make informed recommendations on whether matters should be escalated for deeper review or formal reporting.

- Prepare concise, well-organized written summaries that clearly document findings, rationale, and investigative outcomes.

- Use Excel and data analysis techniques to interpret trends, compare results, and support decision-making.

- Apply anti-money laundering, fraud, risk, and compliance knowledge when evaluating cases and reporting concerns.

- Manage assigned work independently while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and strong attention to detail.

- Participate fully in the required onboarding and training period, including a multi-week schedule with limited time off availability.

Requirements - At least 3 years of business or functional experience for Level 1 review responsibilities; 5 years is required for quality control review work.

- Minimum of 1 year of experience in anti-money laundering, risk, compliance, or related financial crimes investigations.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in financial services, investigations, law enforcement, or a comparable field.

- Demonstrated ability to evaluate cases and decide when suspicious activity should be escalated or reported.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort working with data analytics or data mining techniques.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with a high degree of intellectual curiosity.

- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to present complex findings in a clear and concise manner.

- Careful attention to detail and the ability to work as an independent contributor in a fast-paced setting.
