ResponsibilitiesAs a Records Management Specialist with the Minnesota Department of Education, you will support agency-wide records management, which will cover all aspects of information and records management to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, protect and preserve institutional memory, and promote efficient agency operations. Duties will include:
Development and maintenance of records-related policies and procedures;
Maintenance and updates to record retention schedules;
Provide technical assistance and training relating to records management, retention and destruction

Three (3) years of professional experience in document or record management, technology and training
OR
A bachelor's or master's degree in Library Science, Information Management or a related field and two (2) years of professional experience in document or record management, technology and training
Experience should include:
Organizational/project management skills sufficient to develop and implement agency-wide and division specific records management policies and procedures
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Analytical and problem-solving abilities
Development, implementation, and administration of enterprise records and information management or information governance program.
Large scale project management experience.
Knowledge of electronic records management systems.
Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information responsibly.
Experience in change management and process improvement.
Strong knowledge of records management principles and practices.
Experience with both physical and electronic records management.
Ability to develop and implement effective recordkeeping systems.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
