Geronimo Power is seeking a Community Strategy & Engagement Manager to lead community readiness strategies for early-stage development opportunities, with emphasis on Powered Data Parks, natural gas development, and future technologies pursued by the company. This role owns the Community Strategy & Engagement framework and checklist, ensuring the right tactics are deployed at the right time to support successful project advancement.
Working closely with Development team members, consultants, local advisors, government officials, community stakeholders, and cross-functional business partners, this individual will help prepare projects for late-stage development readiness by documenting stakeholder relationships, community risks, commitments, engagement history, and recommended next steps.
Responsibilities include:
- Own and manage the Community Strategy & Engagement framework, checklist, playbook, and readiness requirements for early-stage opportunities.
- Lead community readiness activities for Powered Data Parks, gas development projects, and future technology initiatives.
- Develop and execute project-specific stakeholder engagement strategies and community readiness plans.
- Support community engagement initiatives including local government outreach, sponsor ships, community partnerships, communications, public education efforts, and economic development activities.
- Develop stakeholder maps and engagement plans that support permitting, land acquisition, stakeholder alignment, and development readiness.
- Partner closely with Strategic Origination, Development, Real Estate, Permitting, Transmission, Marketing & Communications, Public Affairs, consultants, and community stakeholders.
- Track readiness milestones, stakeholder commitments, community risks, mitigation plans, and project handoff requirements.
- Prepare leadership updates, readiness assessments, stakeholder briefings, talking points, FAQs, and strategic recommendations.
- Lead formal handoffs to Development teams by transferring project stakeholder information, commitments, risk assessments, engagement history, and recommended next steps.
- Manage consultants, outreach vendors, local advisors, event resources, and community support partners.
- Represent Geronimo Power at public meetings, community events, stakeholder engagements, and industry functions.
- Travel approximately 30–40% based on project needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll bring includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Community Development, Public Policy, Planning, Business, Environmental Studies, Economic Development, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 5–8 years of experience in community engagement, public affairs, economic development, stakeholder relations, local government, energy development, infrastructure development, or related fields.
- Experience supporting project siting, permitting readiness, local government engagement, public hearings, or community outreach efforts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of briefing materials, presentations, FAQs, stakeholder communications, and executive recommendations.
- Experience managing consultants, vendor relationships, budgets, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout project regions.
