PositionMedical Science Liaison, Rheumatology
LocationField – WI, MN, ND, SD, IA, MO
Key Responsibilities- Develop and enhance professional relationships with medical thought leaders across all phases of product development.
- Provide medical information through scientific exchange in a fair‑balanced manner and support Bristol Myers Squibb and the Medical Affairs department as directed.
- Interact with thought leaders to deliver accurate and compliant medical information.
- Collaborate with the clinical organization to improve patient enrollment in BMS‑sponsored clinical trials, identify suitable trial sites, and educate the community for referrals.
- Provide recommendations to clinical development on study and site feasibility and support investigator‑initiated research (ISR) submissions and follow‑up.
- Ensure investigators understand and apply BMS Pharmacovigilance procedures and report identified adverse events.
- Develop and execute territory and account plans, build referral networks, and contribute to regional and national strategy.
- Present at medical congresses, advisory boards, and unsolicited academic, community, and healthcare provider settings.
- Communicate collected insights back to medical and commercial organizations to support strategy development and business decisions.
- Continuously evolve and shape the field medical role to maximize scientific exchange and foster long‑standing relationships.
- MD, Pharm
D, PhD, APP, PA, or NP with experience in a specific disease area or a broad medical background and relevant pharmaceutical experience. - BS in a scientific or medical discipline required; MD, DO, Pharm
D, MSN, or PhD strongly preferred. - 3–5 years of clinical or research experience in rheumatology.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
- Current working knowledge of US legal, regulatory, and compliance regulations relevant to industry interactions with healthcare professionals.
- Strong partnership and relationship‑building within the medical community.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and time‑management skills.
- Must be able to drive a BMS‑provided vehicle between locations and maintain a safe driving record.
- Field‑based role requiring extensive travel; the MSL must reside in the region they manage.
- Majority of time spent in the field with external customers.
- Travel expectations vary by territory and team needs.
Field – United States – US: $161,250 – $195,401 (base). Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available. Final compensation will be based on demonstrated experience.
