Base pay range: $23.63/hr – $34.58/hr
Brief DescriptionThis position is responsible for performing a variety of patient care activities to assist providers and nursing personnel in a specialty clinic. It facilitates patient/physician/provider communication and coordination of care.
Job Functions- Escorts patients to examination room; obtains vitals and documents in EMR.
- Supports physicians in documentation of patient's visit by entering physician's dictation into the EMR system during the patient's visit.
- Administers prescribed medications/vaccines and treatments in accordance with clinic policies and scope of certification/licensure.
- Prepares equipment and assists providers during examination, testing and treatment of patients.
- Performs room turnover in patient rooms between cases and at the end of day.
- Performs specialty procedures/tests as directed by the Physician.
- Helps maintain stocked supplies and sterilizes instruments/exam room.
- Assists in arranging referrals/prior authorizations as necessary.
- Provides patient education.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
- Ability to meet and maintain necessary background checks as aligned with position functions.
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to effectively handle a high‑stress, fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations.
- Ability to work autonomously and as a team.
- Capable of making independent decisions using good critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Graduation from Medical Assisting program or School of Practical Nursing.
- Current LPN Licensure (new graduates will have 1 year to become certified/licensed in order to maintain employment).
- Current CPR certification.
- EMR Experience.
