Ultrasound Technologist (Part-Time, Contract – 0.2 FTE)

Job Summary
North Star Vascular & Interventional is seeking a skilled, motivated Registered Ultrasound Technologist to join our growing outpatient practice on a part‑time, contracted basis.
This role offers a unique blend of vascular and general ultrasound studies in a high‑performing, physician‑led environment focused on minimally invasive care and exceptional patient experience. The ideal candidate is vascular‑trained, comfortable working independently, and enjoys contributing to a collaborative, fast‑paced outpatient setting.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Perform high‑quality vascular ultrasound examinations, including arterial duplex studies of the upper and lower extremities, venous duplex exams for DVT evaluation and chronic venous insufficiency, and pre‑procedure vessel mapping for endovascular interventions.
- Conduct general and IR‑adjacent ultrasound studies such as thyroid ultrasound with nodule characterization, uterine fibroid assessment, prostate sizing, bladder volume measurement, and abdominal or pelvic imaging as appropriate to clinic needs.
- Provide preliminary technical impressions to physicians and promptly identify and communicate urgent or unexpected findings.
- Ensure accurate documentation, labeling, measurements, and image optimization in accordance with clinic protocols and regulatory standards.
- Support efficient clinic flow by assisting with patient intake, exam sequencing, and coordination with clinical staff.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment through routine quality assurance checks and proactively communicate service or maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and compliance standards applicable to an outpatient radiology and interventional setting.
- Deliver a professional, compassionate, and patient‑centered experience aligned with North Star’s commitment to high‑touch care.
Qualifications:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) required.
- RVT or RVS credential strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of vascular ultrasound experience; outpatient clinic or IR‑related experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in arterial and venous duplex imaging, thyroid ultrasound, pelvic ultrasound, and prostate volume assessment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating closely with physicians and clinical team members.
- Comfort operating in a dynamic, high‑expectation outpatient environment.
Approximately 0.2 FTE with the option of one full clinic day per week or two half‑days per week - Contract work
