Employment Type: 1.0 Full Time, Non-Exempt

Location: Hybrid (Highland Park, Crystal, Lyndale, Rosedale, Eagan)

Shift Information: Variable, Monday – Friday, 9-hour shifts with an hour lunch

Compensation: Dependent on experience

Our patient-centric Primary Care clinics are dispersed across the Twin Cities metro area in Highland Park (St. Paul), Crystal, South Minneapolis (Lyndale), Roseville, and Eagan. Our growing team is passionate about innovating the primary care landscape for women 65+.

About the Support Primary Care Medical Assistant Role

The Support Medical Assistant will provide clinical, clerical, and technical support across multiple Herself Health clinic locations. This role is essential in maintaining smooth clinic operations and ensuring high-quality care for our patients. The Support Medical Assistant will support the clinical nurse and provider teams by collaborating with patients or other health entities per direction of nurse team, creating referrals/prescriptions for review by nurse team and other tasks per nursing direction.

Core

Responsibilities
  • Adapt quickly to new environments and workflows
  • Collaborate with clinic and nurse teams to ensure seamless patient care during transitions
  • Ensure proper documentation of work activities
  • Schedule patient appointments and assist with portal setup and patient education
  • Support chronic disease management and population health initiatives, including outreach to patients for follow-up care
  • Transmit prescription refills or referrals
  • Lab and imaging outreach to patients
  • Care coordination with outside agencies, health systems, pharmacies and/or patients
  • Manage Electronic Medical Records inbox
Core Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Certification program is required or MA diploma
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • MA with 5+ years’ experience
  • Ability to work remote and problem solve technical problems. Required to go to the office if no available internet in remote work location
  • Good standing within the organization (no formal warnings or performance improvement plans active on employee file)
  • Ability to work effectively in an innovative, fast-paced environment
  • Passage of the pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Eligibility to work in the US with proof of citizenship or permanent residency
