Imaging Tech Assistant

Purpose of Job

Provide support for all sub-departments within the Imaging Services Department with clinical patient care, transport of patients and coordinator support functions.

Provide support for all sub-departments within the Imaging Services Department with clinical patient care, transport of patients and coordinator support functions.

• Greets patients and provides them with pre-procedural paperwork.
• Escorts patients to area’s as needed.
• Appropriately screens patient for safety check prior to MRI Technologist review.
• Provide oral contrast to CT patients which has been prepared by the Technologist.
• Provide lifting and transfer help for patients getting on and off the modality tables.
• Change linens and clean room between patients.
• Stock supplies and empties dirty linen bins.
• Burn CDs and assist patient in completing authorization paperwork.
• Engaging patients in communicating any delays.
• Answering phone calls when Technologist is with patient.
• Scheduling Same Day Add-on patient exams.
• Directs patient to prep for Imaging by removing jewelry, clothing and metal that may interfere.
• Communicating with the ER/UC for patient transport readiness.
• Confirming Lab values and IV access readiness.
• Delivering items to clinics, lab and ER.

• Health Care facility clinical care experience.
• CNA or MA

• Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions.
• Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above.

Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as: the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity. Pay listed does not include any shift, weekend, or other differentials.
