Teacher, Healthcare - ) - STEM/CTE

Provide quality Healthcare instruction aligned to state and federal requirements associated with Career & Technical Education (CTE) in the Healthcare-related career fields. Possible courses include but are not limited to:
Anatomy and Physiology, Emergency Medical Responder, Healthcare Core Curriculum, or Medical Terminology. Implement rigorous inquiry-based learning tasks to engage students in deep content of the healthcare industry. Utilize a variety of assessment strategies - diagnostic, formative and summative, to inform instructional decisions and increase student self-management of learning. Capable of applying the nursing process (assessment, planning, delivery, assurance and evaluation) to coordinated health care for individual students.

As needed, assist Special Education teams to provide nursing assessments and recommended educational support services for special needs students enrolled in CTE courses. Recent teaching or professional experience in Healthcare preferred. Preferred MDE teaching licenses for each program of study: 300300 Medical Careers license to teach in grades 9-12; or the appropriate qualifications for a CTE Tier 1 or 2 license.

Education and Experience Guidelines:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university OR equivalent knowledge gained through related industry experience. Examples of an appropriate industry qualification include, but are not limited to: A valid License as a Public School Nurse from the Minnesota Department of Education License as a Registered Nurse from the Minnesota Board of Nursing Public Health certification from the Minnesota Board of Nursing Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Paramedic accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) Prior successful experience student teaching or teaching in an urban, multicultural education setting.

Demonstrated continued professional development through course work, research, peer collaboration and/or job-embedded staff development. A valid Minnesota Tier 2, 3 or 4 teaching license in 300300 Medical Careers; or proof of pending approved licensure; or the appropriate qualifications for a CTE Tier 1 or 2 license identified in the "Preferred MDE teaching licenses" section of this position description.
