Community Clinics Labs

In-Person This part-time role will work days (start times will fall between 7AM and 10AM). This role will float between a variety of clinics:
Brooklyn Park, Clinic and Specialty Center Lab, East Lake, Golden Valley, Richfield, and Whittier, with a focus on the Clinic and Specialty Center.
Under general supervision, performs work that involves collecting and/or processing laboratory specimens, entering data into the electronic health record (EHR) and/or the laboratory information system (LIS). Interacts and communicates with patients, their families, and members of the healthcare team by using various communication tools in a timely and professional manner.
ResponsibilitiesAmbulatory (Community Clinics/CSC) Assist in maintaining supplies and helping with inventory Assists with training of new staff members and students Perform standard procedures for the collection of laboratory samples including but not limited to Patient identification Venipuncture collection Capillary collection Urine collection Documentation of collection in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) Review and release patient laboratory orders in the electronic health record (EHR) Review, order, and collect patient laboratory orders from an outside facility according to standard operating procedures Properly processes and distributes specimens following collection Explains collection processes and procedures to patients, customers, and their families Prepares specimens to send out to reference laboratory (HHS Main Campus), including properly labeling, aliquoting of specimens, and any associated LIS documentation (transfer lists) Prepares, performs, and documents select testing according to standard operating procedures for which they have received applicable training and supervisor approval to perform
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED OR An approved equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified or certified-eligible with a nationally accredited phlebotomy association OR Completion of ten quarter credits of biology or chemistry college courses OR Six Months of experience in a clinical laboratory setting Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
