School-Based Therapist TAP Program

This position provides clinical services to children and families considered to be at risk in a school setting. The role can have a reduced summer schedule. Services are delivered on-site at home, school, or the community. The position requires a high level of skill and knowledge about families, individuals, and family assessment, skills, and education services in the school. The role includes diagnostic assessments and therapy services to eligible students and their families.
It also provides consultation/teaming with school psychologists, school social workers, teachers, and multiple mental health providers. This position offers case consultation, training on mental health issues, and assistance to school personnel for clients in the Therapeutic Assistance Program.
- Masters or Doctorate Degree in social work, family therapy, or psychology with an emphasis on clinical practice required.
- MN state license and eligibility to become a credentialed provider with insurance entities required, e.g., LP, LICSW, LMFT, or license eligible. Clinical trainee applicants considered.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in working with severe emotional disorders in children and adults, family systems theory, individual and family development, community resources, and school systems required.
- Considerable ability to plan and implement treatment strategies for children with SED preferred.
- Experience with students and families of color and understanding of the impact of race and poverty upon students and families preferred.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records preferred.
- Uses a personal automobile for transportation, may require frequent use for traveling between office and clients. An active driver’s license and vehicle insurance per Canvas Health policy required.
- Use of a cell phone is required for this position.
HIRING BONUS – This position is eligible for a $1,500 hiring bonus: $500 paid after 6 months, the remainder after 12 months.
