The Behavioral Health Billing Specialist is a member of the finance team at Touchstone Mental Health and is responsible for submitting and resolving issues with insurance claims.
- Resolve issues when claims are rejected on a daily basis
- Maintain the Red X report and follow up with items on a daily basis
- Contact insurance companies, municipalities, and state agencies via phone and email to resolve authorization and payment issues on a daily basis
- Provide updates to program and agency leadership teams on a daily and monthly basis
- Request infromation from program staff and assist them with resolving issues that are listed on the batch error reports on an ongoing basis
- Maintain client records in the electronic health record system on an ongoing basis
- Assist with the credentialing process of licensed staff members on an as needed basis
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience performing medical billing and/or payment posting required.
- Experience wih an electronic health record required.
- Experience with behavioral health billing strongly preferred.
- Experience with Availity clearinghouse and MN MN-ITS portal strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of provider credentialing, NPIs, and taxonomies preferred.
