Position Overview

The Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis seeks an Assistant General Manager for the Mara Restaurant and Bar Mara to join our talented team! Don't miss this unique opportunity to be part of the world's leading luxury hotel company!

Basic Purpose

Plan, organize, control and direct the work of employees in the Mara Restaurant and Bar Mara outlets while ensuring guest satisfaction.

Essential Functions
  • Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees to ensure cultural and core standards are met.
  • Assist in implementing and planning innovations and additions to the restaurant and bar year‑round.
  • Be visible in operations, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts.
  • Describe and ensure quality of all food items, ingredients, and preparation methods, and provide knowledge of wine and spirits in an elegantly appointed environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive experience for Mara and Bar Mara.
  • Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, purchasing decisions, and inventory management.
  • Attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
  • Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment in the outlet and recommend corrections and improvements as needed.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co‑workers and Ambassadors.
Preferred Qualifications And Skills
  • College degree specializing in hotel/restaurant management or equivalent experience; a college degree is required.
  • One to two years of previous experience in an assistant manager or department head position in Food & Beverage.
  • Working knowledge of division operations and Four Seasons cultural and core standards, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of food & beverage service, cost control, labor control, maintenance, merchandising, and accounting.
  • Ability to operate computer equipment and other food & beverage computer systems.
  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
  • Ability to work eight‑to‑ten‑hour shifts; scheduled days and hours may vary based on need.
