Banquet Captain - Rand Tower Hotel

We are looking for a highly motivated Banquet Captain to join our team! This role involves directing set-up and preparation of banquet rooms, serving and bussing tables, and assisting the Banquet Manager.

• Set up functions: tables, silverware, napkins, drinks, centerpieces.
• Serve food: pick up from kitchen, carry trays, serve and clear food and beverages.
• Break down: buss tables, remove linens & centerpieces, vacuum.
• Maintain banquet storage: clean and organize storerooms.
• Set up break stations: coffee, tea, snacks, beverages.
• Assist event room setup according to meal period & table needs.
• Perform food & beverage prep: condiments, brewing coffee, stocking workstations.
• Serve & clear dishes, glasses, silverware, sanitize tables & counters.
• Explain menu items, cooking methods, ingredients; accommodate special requests & dietary issues.
• Provide general property information, welcome/farewell guests.
• Assist staff across departments; perform final quality checks on food & beverage.
• Monitor tables for customer satisfaction, quality, and service; address guest issues promptly.
• Maintain safety awareness: broken glass, frayed cords, leaks, locks, suspicious persons.

• 2-4 years of banquet food service experience.
• Experience in 4-star or 5-star venues with synchronized service.
• Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Passion for creating exceptional experiences for all guests.
• Excellent communication skills.

Compensation: $18.37 - $18.37
