The Banquet Steward plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and organization of all banquet and kitchen operations. This position supports the culinary and banquet teams by maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment, handling dishwashing, equipment cleaning, and storage while adhering to sanitation and safety standards.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Clean and sanitize banquet kitchen areas, dishware, glassware, and utensils before, during, and after events.
  • Properly store all banquet equipment, including plates, cutlery, trays, and buffet setup items.
  • Ensure dishwashing stations, banquet prep areas, and storage rooms are clean and organized.
  • Safely operate and maintain dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment.
  • Dispose of trash and recycling following property guidelines and environmental policies.
  • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, dishware, and utensils to ensure banquet operations run smoothly.
  • Work closely with the culinary and banquet teams to support efficient service during events.
  • Follow all hotel and department safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols.
  • Assist with deep cleaning tasks, such as kitchen floors, walls, and drains, as scheduled.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in stewarding, kitchen cleaning, or banquet operations preferred but not required.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, pushing and pulling moderate amounts of weight.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
