Prestige Global Meeting Source, founded in 1986, provides site selection and event services to clients. Our experienced sales partners work to find and contract the best possible hotels, resorts, DMCs, and cruises for groups and continue through to full-service event development and management.
CompensationThe salary range for the role is $58,000–$62,000, based on experience.
LocationMinneapolis, MN (in-office during training then hybrid)
What will I do?The Sourcing Specialist provides administrative and operational support to assigned salespeople while building and maintaining relationships with hotels, DMC partners, and team members. As part of that, you will be doing the following:
- Simultaneously manage relationships and workloads of assigned salespeople.
- Create and maintain event RFPs (Request for Proposals) via Cvent software ensuring accuracy in format and required data within agreed-upon deadlines.
- Create and maintain hotel proposal summaries via Cvent and provide to the assigned sales staff.
- Provide detailed reviews of bids to specific assigned salespeople in a timely and efficient manner.
- Develop and maintain relationships with hotel, Destination Management Companies, City Visitors Bureau, and industry partners.
- Attend and participate in supplier sponsored presentations and events, virtually and in-person, which may at times occur outside of normal business hours.
- Attend virtual and in-person staff meetings, as well as industry conferences, and assist onsite with partner presentations.
- Recommend properties and destinations based on event details.
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- A minimum of 2+ years of hotel sourcing and Cvent experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and MS Office skills.
- Effective time management, attention-to-detail, and people skills.
- Team player who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment with a proven ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Proven experience effectively multi-tasking and networking.
- Must be able to work standard business hours, and may need to adjust work schedule depending on location of assigned salespeople.
- Experience in hotel contracts and negotiation.
