Description

We are working with a client who is seeking two experienced Project Managers to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is a long-term contract opportunity where you will play a vital role in managing HR-focused projects, ensuring efficient operations, and driving successful outcomes. If you have expertise in HR systems, emerging technologies, and a passion for delivering impactful results, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

- Strategically partner with internal clients and stakeholders to support medium to complex projects, with a focus on HR-based functions such as Performance, Compensation, Benefits, Time, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, and/or Workday HCM.

- Develop and execute project plans for Talent initiatives, ensuring HR functional requirements are integrated and addressed.

- Facilitate cross-functional teams and stakeholder meetings, providing guidance rooted in your HR systems and process experience.

- Identify, assess, and communicate project issues and risks, especially those impacting HR operations and compliance.

- Provide ongoing project support, oversight, and process adherence for HR-related projects.

-  Advocate for the effective and efficient use of internal HR systems, including Workday HCM and related platforms.

- Mentor and guide team members, sharing HR functional knowledge and best practices.

- Perform other duties as assigned, with an emphasis on HR technology and process improvement.

- Strong project management discipline, including planning, dependency management, risk management, and delivery tracking.

- Ability to translate ambiguous ideas into structured plans, milestones, and decision points.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive‑level materials.

- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

- Detail oriented judgment in handling confidential, sensitive, or high‑visibility initiatives.

- 5+ years of project or program management experience, including work across complex, cross‑functional initiatives.

- Demonstrated HR domain experience, such as Talent, HR Operations, HR Technology, HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Performance, and Talent Development.

- Proven ability to operate in matrixed organizations and drive execution without direct authority.

Requirements

- Proven experience managing HR-related projects, including payroll, benefits, and time/absence management.

- Familiarity with emerging technologies, such as AI and automation, and their application in HR systems.

- Strong knowledge of HR operations and core functions, with a focus on process optimization.

- Hands-on experience with Workday systems is highly desirable.

- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

- Solid problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.

- Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or a related field is preferred.

- Experience with Workday, Service Now, Smartsheet, or similar enterprise platforms or PMP or other formal project management certification preferred.

- Experience supporting change management and transitions to operational ownership preferred.
