The Benefits & Payroll Compliance Manager is a crucial role at Pritchard Companies. It requires a blend of expertise in finance and human resources, as it involves overseeing payroll processing, tax compliance, and the administration of benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans and other employee perks. The Benefits & Payroll Manager acts as a key liaison between employees, management and external vendors, providing expertise on compensation and benefits issues.
Keyresponsibilities
- Benefits administration and eligibility
- Open enrollment
- Broker and carrier management
- COBRA, ACA, ERISA
- Welfare and Retirement Form 5500 coordination
- 401k census and audits
- Plan document and SPD maintenance
- Multi-state employment law monitoring
- OSHA administrative reporting
- Worker’s compensation documentation
- Compliance training tracking
- Audit support
- Administering employee benefits programs such as retirement plans, medical, dental, vision insurances, life and disability insurances and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Preparing reports summarizing earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages for financial planning and audit purposes.
- Liaise with external auditors and provide support during audits by supplying required payroll and benefits documentation and explanations.
- Overseeing & processing payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions to ensure accurate and timely payroll issuance.
- Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information, providing solutions to payroll errors and ensuring corrections are processed.
- Oversee the maintenance of current employee data systems, ensuring confidentiality and data protection standards are met.
- Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications, such as Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) is preferred.
- Knowledge of Regulations:
- A strong understanding of employment laws and regulations is essential for ensuring compliance and managing risks associated with benefits programs.
- Analytical
Skills:- The ability to analyze data and assess the effectiveness of benefits programs is crucial for making informed decisions and recommendations.
- Communication
Skills:- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for educating employees an collaborating with various stakeholders.
