Office Assistant
The Office Assistant supports the HR Manager in delivering efficient and compliant HR operations across a multi-state manufacturing organization. This role provides administrative and clerical support across key HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, payroll coordination, and compliance with federal and multi-state employment laws. The position serves as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries and helps ensure consistent HR practices across all locations.
The ideal candidate is meticulous, highly organized, and capable of managing confidential information in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform all duties and responsibilities with an emphasis on safety.
- Manage the performance review system for both regular and trial-for-hire employees, including tracking the timing of the reviews, preparing review documents for managers and employees to complete, reviewing completed documents for content and completeness, assessing appropriate pay increases, and assisting managers with conducting the review meetings.
- Conduct all employment-related administration, including new hire set-up, pay increase processing, termination processing, employee benefit enrollments, and file management.
- Ensure employment practices are equitable and legal. Update yearly posters in all locations.
- Manage staffing through communication with staffing agencies. Set up interviews, make offers, and set up new employees, and approve invoices for staffing agencies.
- Conduct payroll when HR Manager is not available.
- Create files for all new hires and keep them up to date.
- Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding.
- Assist with processing Workers Comp claims.
- Keep work area clean and orderly.
Essential Skills
- 6+ months of Data Entry experience.
- 1+ years of experience with Excel, Word & Outlook.
- High School Diploma or GED.

Work Environment
Work in an office setting, spending the majority of the day at a desk or computer. Regular hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
