Job SummaryJefferson Lines is seeking an experienced Corporate Recruiter with an emphasis on CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) Drivers to join our Minneapolis-based team. This position will lead full-cycle recruitment for professional motorcoach drivers across multiple operating locations throughout our network.
Working from our Minneapolis office, the Corporate Recruiter will manage recruiting pipelines across multiple geographic markets while providing welcoming, professional experience for all candidates. This is a highly visible role that works closely with driver supervisors, station managers and operational leadership to ensure we have the qualified drivers, mechanics, and other staff, needed to deliver safe, reliable customer‑centric transportation services.
The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive recruiter who has a strong understanding of CDL driver recruitment, can manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and enjoys building relationships with candidates, managers, and other stakeholders.
PayFrom $75,000.00 per year
Key Responsibilities- Multi-Location Recruiting:
Develop and execute recruiting strategies to attract qualified CDL drivers, mechanics and other staff for multiple depot locations and geographic markets. - Full-Cycle Recruitment:
Manage candidates from initial sourcing and screening through interviews, hiring, onboarding, and follow‑up. - Pipeline Management:
Build and maintain strong, location‑specific candidate pipelines to anticipate hiring needs and minimize driver shortages. - Candidate
Experience:
Provide timely, professional communication throughout the recruitment process and ensure candidates have a positive experience with Jefferson Lines. - Recruiting Strategy:
Develop targeted recruiting approaches based on local labor markets, driver availability, wages, competition, and terminal‑specific hiring needs. - Operational Partnership:
Work closely with location managers and operations leadership to understand staffing needs, hiring priorities, and anticipated vacancies. - Compliance:
Ensure applicants meet applicable company hiring requirements consistently across all operating locations. - Recruiting Analytics:
Track recruiting activity and hiring results by location, identify bottlenecks, and recommend actions to improve recruiting performance. - Retention:
Support and develop initiatives designed to improve driver retention and employee engagement. - Employee Feedback:
Conduct stay and exit interviews as appropriate and communicate trends or concerns to leadership. - Market Research:
Research local wages, benefits, competitor hiring practices, and labor‑market conditions to evaluate the competitiveness of Jefferson Lines' driver compensation and recruiting strategies.
- Source professional CDL drivers through targeted job boards, social media, community organizations, referrals, recruiting events, and other creative recruiting channels.
- Develop relationships with CDL schools, workforce organizations, veterans' organizations, and other potential driver recruiting sources.
- Screen applicants for appropriate CDL qualifications.
- Conduct in‑office interviews with local candidates and conduct phone or video interviews with candidates located in other markets.
- Work with our Safety department to verify driver qualification and compliance information.
- Coordinate hiring and onboarding activities with multiple operating locations to ensure a consistent and efficient process.
- Maintain accurate and timely candidate information in the applicant tracking system.
- Communicate regularly with candidates throughout the hiring process to maintain engagement and reduce candidate drop‑off.
