Linux administrator

Akkodis is seeking a Linux administrator for a Contract with a client in Minneapolis, MN. The ideal candidate must have deep Linux administration expertise to perform system provisioning and hardening while troubleshooting performance, security, and infrastructure issues.

Rate Range: $49/hour to $53/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers across RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, and SUSE, including managing services, patches, security hardening, and kernel tuning.
• Administer physical and virtual environments, handling provisioning, lifecycle management, load balancing/failover, and VMware‑based infrastructure.
• Manage storage and backups, including LVM, RAID, NFS/CIFS, iSCSI, and enterprise backup/recovery tools, while performing regular DR testing and retention compliance.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking, including routing, VLANs, bonding, firewalls (iptables/firewalld/nftables), DNS/DHCP, VPNs, and SELinux/App Armor policies.
• Implement monitoring and automation, using tools like Datadog/ELK/Splunk, and develop scripts (Bash/Python/Perl) to automate system tasks, health checks, and server provisioning.
• Resolve complex system issues, including kernel panics, boot failures, performance bottlenecks, and hardware faults; perform root‑cause analysis and document solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of hands‑on experience administering Linux systems in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in Linux server administration across multiple distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, SUSE), including system hardening, networking, storage, and virtualization.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting complex system, network, and performance issues, along with automation skills using Bash/Python and proficiency with monitoring/logging tools (Datadog, ELK, Splunk).

Pay Details: $49.00 to $53.00 per hour
