The Field Service Engineer/Modality Specialist begins by training as a Field Engineer with a path to becoming a Modality Specialist in mammography. This position is field-based with front-line responsibility for installing, maintaining, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing diagnostic medical imaging equipment at clinical sites; and actively supporting sales and business development efforts. This Field Engineer is the liaison between NXC and the Vendor Partners for a specified modality.

The Field Engineer will have advanced knowledge for the specified modality and be the internal go-to person for the modality.

• Interact with customers to identify customer issues/needs and take appropriate action.
• Lead installations, service, calibrations, and preventive maintenance without direct supervision.
• Assist in training and providing guidance and work direction to level 1 and level 2 Field Engineers.
• Perform installations, service, calibrations, and preventive maintenance without direct supervision.
• Properly install, troubleshoot, diagnose and service multiple products in multiple modalities with ability to handle complex issues.
• Communicate technical information to the customer, vendor, internal colleagues.

• Keep current with technical knowledge on products/modalities.
• Develop a high level of troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Develop service-selling skills.

• Subject matter expert for specified modality; on-site technical support.
• Responsible for implementing software upgrades, updates, and patches.
• Communication from vendor partners (RSTI, Tri Imaging) to colleagues.
• Serve as escalation point for all escalated calls.
• Participate in manager on call rotation.

• Provide accurate and timely service reports, timecards, and expense reports.
• Respond to colleagues in a timely manner (Service Support, Finance, Sales, etc.)
• Complies with NXC policies and procedures.
• Provide recommendation to enhance efficiency and/or improvements to Area Service Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required

• Two-year post-secondary degree or certificate in electronic technology or equivalent training.

• Minimum 6 years work experience, preferably in diagnostic imaging service environment.
• Experience with internal teams and customer teams to solve customer issues

• Proficient in installing and/or servicing multiple modalities.
• Advanced knowledge in specified modality.
• Solid understanding of the fundamental computer applications and ability to help others with troubleshooting.
• Quality and customer service driven to consistently delight internal and external customers.

• Ability to apply critical thinking skills and proactively solve problems

The pay range for this role is: 29 - 46 USD per hour (Remote (Minneapolis, Minnesota, US))
