SAP ABAP

Our client is looking for a Senior SAP ABAP Technical Lead to drive a logistics-focused initiative in their SAP environment. This role is a blend of hands-on ABAP development + technical leadership
, where you’ll guide a small team (3–4 engineers) and work closely with Supply Chain stakeholders and cross-functional IT partners.

A key focus of the work is implementing a vendor drop-ship process (“Longflow”) to enable new shipment flows tied to EDB
. You’ll be coordinating development execution, ensuring quality, and helping the team deliver on an aggressive timeline while keeping business outcomes front and center.

• Own the ABAP technical delivery for logistics enhancements and integrations
• Lead design discussions, convert requirements into technical specs, and guide build approach
• Develop and troubleshoot ABAP objects (reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, workflows as needed)
• Review code and ensure performance, scalability, and SAP best practices
• Coordinate with offshore developers
  : task breakdown, estimations, daily direction, and QA checks
• Partner with Supply Chain, EBD, EBS, and SAP leadership to unblock issues and keep work on track
• Support SIT/UAT cycles: defect triage, fixes, stabilization, and production readiness
• Proactively identify risks (timeline, scope, technical debt) and communicate clearly

• Lead SAP ABAP development efforts within the SAP logistics landscape
• Support implementation of vendor drop-ship process (“Longflow”)
• Provide technical leadership for a team of 3–4 engineers
• Coordinate and review offshore development deliverables
• Collaborate with Supply Chain + business stakeholders and internal IT teams
• Ensure development aligns with business process requirements and delivery timelines
• Act as the technical point of contact for logistics-related enhancements and fixes

• Deep ABAP expertise with a strong SAP foundation
• Proven technical leadership / workstream ownership experience
• Comfortable working with offshore development teams (coordination + review + quality)

• 10+ years overall SAP experience
• Strong ABAP development background in logistics-related modules
• Experience leading development work streams and mentoring developers
• Strong communication skills — able to translate business needs into technical execution
• Experience working in fast-paced environments with tight delivery windows

• Strong exposure to integrations and IDocs / interfaces (depending on landscape)
• Experience working with global stakeholders (US + India coordination)
• Client runs and supports their own SAP environment
• This role reports into SAP leadership and partners closely with Supply Chain stakeholders
• Hiring lead is based in India and actively involved in selection and interviews
