Job Overview

Akkodis is seeking a Database Engineer for a Contract with a client in Minneapolis, MN
. This role requires deep-handed expertise in Mongo

DB architecture, replication, and sharding as a core qualification.

$49/hour to $53/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• Design, implement, and optimize Mongo
  
  DB architectures including replica sets, sharded clusters, indexing strategies, and performance‑tuned data models.
• Monitor and maintain database health by executing capacity planning, performance tuning, security hardening, and enforcing backup/recovery strategies.
• Troubleshoot complex Mongo
  
  DB issues and collaborate with development teams to review schemas, queries, and data access patterns for performance improvements.
• Support and maintain additional No
  
  SQL platforms such as Elasticsearch, Cassandra, and Couchbase, including cluster configuration and data management tasks.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, patching, upgrades, and disaster recovery plans while maintaining comprehensive documentation and runbooks.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering teams, participate in code reviews, and contribute to database governance, best practices, and on‑call production support.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience working with Mongo
  
  DB in production environments.
• Expert‑level knowledge of Mongo
  
  DB architecture, replication, sharding, indexing, and performance optimization.
• Experience with additional No
  
  SQL platforms such as Elasticsearch, Cassandra, or Couchbase for multi‑database support.
