This position is a W2 contract‑to‑hire opportunity based onsite four days per week in Minneapolis, MN
. Compensation during the contract period is $60/hr-$65/hr
.

The Network Engineer will handle advanced technical work focused on designing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure. This includes responsibility for switching, routing, WAN technologies, SD‑WAN platforms, wireless systems, network security, and performance monitoring to maintain a secure, stable, and high‑performing environment.

Essential Functions
  • Architect, configure, and deploy enterprise network solutions involving routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, VPN, MPLS,
    and SD‑WAN technologies
    .
  • Plan, configure, and support SD‑WAN implementations across multi‑site environments, including policy creation, routing optimization, and performance monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, standards, diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Coordinate and execute network hardware and software installations, upgrades, and lifecycle improvements.
  • Strengthen and maintain network security through policy enforcement, vulnerability remediation, and continuous monitoring.
  • Monitor network performance, analyze issues, and proactively resolve connectivity and throughput concerns.
  • Support and maintain VOIP phones and related network integrations.
  • Collaborate with third‑party vendors for circuit issues, WAN/LAN performance troubleshooting, and infrastructure escalations.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation and provide after‑hours support when needed.
  • Address network‑related service desk tickets with timely, accurate technical resolutions.
  • Protect organizational data by maintaining confidentiality and following security protocols.
  • Stay current on technology trends and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Communicate effectively with peers, leadership, and vendors in a professional and collaborative manner.
  • Maintain dependable attendance and comply with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Follow all safety, security, and compliance standards.
  • Perform other network‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • 8+ years of experience designing, supporting, and optimizing enterprise LAN/WAN environments.
  • Strong expertise with Cisco switches, VLANs, IPSec, firewall technologies, and complex configurations.
  • Solid experience with SD‑WAN platforms (any major vendor).
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco, Aruba, and Ubiquiti wireless hardware and ecosystems (Cisco WLCs, Aruba Central, Clear Pass).
  • Experience deploying and managing out‑of‑band management (OOBM) devices.
  • Background in capacity planning, performance tuning, and network monitoring/management tools.
  • Proficiency with routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and multi‑path BGP.
  • CCNA or higher certification preferred.
  • Experience with SSE or SASE products is a plus.
  • Experience conducting WiFi audits using tools like Ekahau preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to break down technical issues clearly.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to stay organized in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure while adapting to frequent change.
  • Highly motivated, quality‑driven, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
