Summary/Objective:
In this role, you will serve as the in‑house expert for general computer, network, and Audio‑Visual technologies, supporting the Basketball Operations team for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx. Your responsibilities include providing hands‑on support and troubleshooting for a range of devices, including laptops and desktops (Mac and PC), multifunction printers, VoIP phones, smartphones, mobile devices, and mobile apps. We are seeking someone with excellent customer service skills who can remain calm under pressure and explain technical information in clear, straightforward terms.
Work Hours & Availability:
This role requires a significant time commitment. The Operations Information Technology Specialist must be on‑site for all home games, available and responsive during away games, and present on‑site for both pre‑season and post‑season activities. Due to the dynamic nature of the basketball calendar, it is essential for the candidate to demonstrate flexibility and a strong commitment to the role.
Essential Functions

Technical Assistance and Support:
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming issues and requests related to computer systems, software, hardware, and AV equipment.
- Provide support directly to end users in their offices, cubes, meeting areas, offsite venues, and at Target Center.
- Provide support on game days and/or event day setup as needed at the arena or other offsite locations.
- Provide after‑hours support via phone for staff traveling to games, meetings, and other events.
- Provide network and basic computer support to coaching staff of visiting teams.
Documentation and Updates:
- Produce and provide clear and concise documentation to end users on IT/AV systems and procedures.
- Ensure Timberwolves and Lynx Basketball Operations computer systems are kept current with security patches, operating systems, and application updates.
Help Desk Functions:
- Assist with Help Desk functions that include, but are not limited to:
End user account creation, Active Directory security, setting up and deploying both PCs and Macs, Asset Management, etc. - Quickly assess and identify which issues can be resolved immediately and which require escalation to higher‑level support or specialized teams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
World class customer service skills, and the ability to prioritize requests.

- Ability to pick up and successfully adapt to new software, hardware, and other technology quickly.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Ability to work well on a team and independently.
- High level of proficiency in both Apple and PC laptops/desktops. This includes new deployments and complete system rebuilds.
- High level of proficiency with Apple and Android mobile devices.
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Teams, Copilot, One Drive, Dropbox, and other similar cloud software.
- Ability to manage workload with general instructions and periodic review from supervisor.
- Proficiency in using remote tools such as Connect Wise or Team Viewer.
- Experience with Hudl and Synergy preferred.
Education
:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
