provides advanced technical support and systems administration for managed services clients by going to the customer site.
Travel will be a requirement for this position. This role serves as an escalation point from Level 1 support and is responsible for resolving moderately complex technical issues, maintaining client infrastructure, and assisting with standardized implementations and projects. The Level 2 System Engineer plays a key role in ensuring system reliability, security, and customer satisfaction while adhering to MSP service standards and SLAs.
- Resolve escalated service tickets from Level 1 technicians in accordance with SLA requirements.
- Troubleshoot and remediate issues related to Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Support and troubleshoot network connectivity, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
- Support and troubleshoot email systems including Microsoft Exchange and Exchange Online.
- Perform systems administration tasks including user onboarding/offboarding and server maintenance.
- Apply patches, updates, and firmware following change management procedures.
- Monitor systems using RMM tools and respond proactively to alerts.
- Administer virtualization platforms such as Hyper‑V and VMware.
- Support Microsoft 365 and Azure AD environments including licensing and access issues.
- Monitor and manage backup solutions and assist with disaster recovery events.
- Respond to security alerts and assist with malware and endpoint protection incidents.
- Assist with infrastructure and migration projects under senior engineer guidance.
- Maintain accurate documentation including SOPs, diagrams, and knowledge base articles.
- Communicate professionally with clients and internal teams.
- 3–5 years of experience in IT support or systems administration (MSP experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
- Experience supporting multiple client environments.
- Familiarity with backup systems, endpoint security, and RMM tools.
- Basic to intermediate Power Shell skills.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and customer service skills.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Reliable vehicle for traveling to Customer office.
- Willing to be on an On-Call rotation for after-hours issues
Job Type: Full‑time
Pay: $24 - $29 per hour
