Head of eCommerce
Location - Greater Minneapolis, Minnesota Area | Full-Time – In Office | Reports to – EVP of Sales Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and hands‑on Head of eCommerce to lead and scale our digital business across Direct‑to‑Consumer, Amazon FBA, third‑party sellers and marketplace channels. This role owns the eCommerce P&L and is responsible for accelerating online revenue growth, improving profitability, and building a scalable, data‑driven eCommerce engine.
The ideal candidate is an experienced eCommerce leader who has successfully grown a DTC platform, scaled Amazon FBA, and developed disciplined 3P seller strategies while balancing brand control, margin optimization, and operational excellence. This person must be a hands‑on leader along with have the ability to set and manage strategy.
Key Responsibilities e Commerce Strategy & P&L Ownership- Own and manage the full eCommerce P&L, including revenue growth, margin performance, and customer acquisition cost.
- Develop and execute a multi‑year eCommerce strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
- Establish clear KPIs, dashboards, and performance rhythms across all eCommerce channels.
- Manage and develop the existing Tech Stack to support business requirements.
- Scale and optimize the existing DTC website, conversion rate, AOV (average order value), traffic growth, and customer retention.
- Partner with marketing and UX teams to improve customer acquisition, onsite experience, rewards program and lifecycle marketing.
- Drive pricing, promotions, and merchandising strategies that balance growth and margin.
- Lead Amazon FBA strategy, including catalog optimization, advertising, content, pricing, inventory planning, and Buy Box performance.
- Manage Amazon advertising spend with a disciplined ROAS (return on advertising spend) and contribution margin focus.
- Navigate Amazon Vendor vs. Seller dynamics where applicable.
- Monitor algorithm changes, compliance, and policy risks.
- Build and execute a controlled 3P seller strategy to expand reach while protecting brand equity and pricing integrity.
- Identify, onboard, and manage high‑quality 3P partners across Amazon and other marketplaces.
- Establish clear rules of engagement for MAP, content standards, inventory flow, and seller performance.
- Proactively manage channel conflict and gray‑market risk.
- Lead and develop the eCommerce team (internal and external partners/agencies).
- Partner closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and IT to align inventory, forecasting, and demand planning.
- Deliver executive reports and insights to senior leaders.
- 8–12+ years of eCommerce experience with direct ownership of DTC and Amazon FBA.
- Proven track record of scaling eCommerce revenue profitably, not just top‑line growth.
- Deep understanding of Amazon Seller Central, FBA economics, and marketplace advertising.
- Experience building or managing 3P seller ecosystems.
- Strong financial acumen: ability to manage contribution margin, ROAS, inventory turns, and working capital.
- Experience with eCommerce platforms (Shopify preferred), analytics tools, and ERP/OMS integrations.
- Hands‑on leader comfortable operating both strategically and tactically.
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, Analytics, or a related field.
