Our client in Downtown Minneapolis is looking for a Workstation Technician (Desktop Support Analyst) to join their team. This role is 100% onsite in Downtown Minneapolis and will start as a 6‑month contract with the high potential for extensions and possible conversion to full‑time long term. The ideal candidate will provide white‑glove support to higher‑level executives and bring strong technical expertise.

Experience in a law firm or finance environment is great but not required.

Description

BASIC FUNCTION:

  • Install, configure, and maintain software and hardware for end‑user computing devices.
  • Provide daily service‑level support to in‑person and remote users, resolving issues and serving as an escalation point for the Technical Support Center.
  • Execute departmental processes related to inventory control, computer system disposition, and accurate issue and time entry in IS ticketing and time‑keeping systems.
  • Support, configure, install, and troubleshoot employee computer systems, peripherals, printers, mobile devices, desktop OS, virtual desktop environments, management systems, and MDM platforms while documenting work in the Help Desk tracking system.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with employees across diverse roles.
  • Adapt standard OS and software configurations to evolving hardware requirements; research new components, drivers, firmware, and run automated installation processes to support deployment efficiency.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on hardware and operating systems to improve process efficiency while complying with overall information systems goals and procedures.
  • Maintain physical inventory, record equipment relocations and reassignments, and ensure a clean workspace.
  • Handle movement, packaging, and shipping of computers, printers, and peripherals to users at local sites, regional offices, remote locations, and client facilities.
  • Dispose of computers, printers, and peripherals in a timely, efficient, and cost‑effective manner.
  • Perform entry‑level LAN administration and troubleshooting, including installing patch cables and diagnosing network configuration issues.
  • Collaborate with peers and management to recommend procedures, standardize configurations, and enhance training and user communication.
  • Uphold department standards for attendance, coverage, customer service, and quality of issue resolution.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.
Qualifications – Knowledge & Abilities
  • Two‑year technical school certification or equivalent.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience supporting Windows OS platforms and endpoints, Active Directory, Entra , Intune, Broadcom Ghost Solution Suite, and remote access technologies (Citrix, RSA, VPN).
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Windows Defender Firewall, and Bit Locker.
  • Highly committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to manage and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels.
  • Willing and able to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Physical strength and agility to lift up to 75 pounds and perform frequent bending, walking, and lifting.
  • Ability to work in a high‑stress environment.
Desired
  • Microsoft 365 Certified:
    Endpoint Administrator Associate and/or CompTIA A+ certification.
  • Experience with Apple Mac Book/macOS.
  • Previous experience working in a law firm and supporting legal applications, policies, and technologies.
