Mainframe Developer (COBOL / DB2) - US Bank

Contract | 6 Months

Hybrid (3 Days Onsite Required)

This role is only available as a W2 contract position. We are not able to engage candidates on a C2C or 1099 basis for this opportunity.

We are actively hiring Mainframe Developers to support a large‑scale initiative with US Bank focused on reducing technical debt and modernizing core systems. This is a funded effort with strong visibility, and the team is expanding to accelerate delivery across key projects. These roles offer a mix of new development, system enhancements, and ongoing application support— not just maintenance work.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, and VSAM
• Participate in the full SDLC (requirements, design, development, testing, deployment)
• Collaborate with product teams and technical SMEs to translate business needs into solutions
• Contribute to both new feature development and existing system improvements
• Support agile team activities (stand‑ups, sprint planning, etc.)
• Partner with offshore teams as needed (may include occasional early meetings)

• Recent, hands‑on experience as a Mainframe Developer
• Strong expertise in:
  • COBOL
  • DB2
  • VSAM
  • JCL
• Experience working in a development‑focused (not solely support) environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Experience with CICS
• Experience with Git / Git Lab
• Background in financial services or credit card systems

• Hybrid:

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $58.00/hr.
