Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team on a contract basis, with the potential for full-time conversion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in T-SQL performance optimization, Power BI, and data modeling, along with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with both business and IT leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize complex T-SQL queries, following best practices for performance tuning.
• Design and implement Power BI dashboards, visualizations, and data models, utilizing Power Query and DAX.
• Work closely with business stakeholders and IT leadership to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
• Maintain and enhance data pipelines and reporting frameworks to support business intelligence initiatives.
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security across various systems and platforms.

Required Skills & Experience

• Advanced T-SQL expertise, including performance optimization and windowed functions.
• Strong Power BI proficiency, including visualization design, data modeling, Power Query, and DAX.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

Nice to Have (Preferred Skills)

• Experience with Python for data processing and automation.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Azure cloud services.
• Familiarity with Power Automate and Azure Data Factory for workflow automation and data integration.

• Initially 3 days/week in-office (Downtown Minneapolis).
• After training, transition to 2 days/week (Mondays & Thursdays).
