Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team on a contract basis, with the potential for full-time conversion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in T-SQL performance optimization, Power BI, and data modeling, along with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with both business and IT leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize complex T-SQL queries, following best practices for performance tuning.
- Design and implement Power BI dashboards, visualizations, and data models, utilizing Power Query and DAX.
- Work closely with business stakeholders and IT leadership to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Maintain and enhance data pipelines and reporting frameworks to support business intelligence initiatives.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security across various systems and platforms.
Required Skills & Experience
- Advanced T-SQL expertise, including performance optimization and windowed functions.
- Strong Power BI proficiency, including visualization design, data modeling, Power Query, and DAX.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
Nice to Have (Preferred Skills)
- Experience with Python for data processing and automation.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Azure cloud services.
- Familiarity with Power Automate and Azure Data Factory for workflow automation and data integration.

- Initially 3 days/week in-office (Downtown Minneapolis).
- After training, transition to 2 days/week (Mondays & Thursdays).
