Databricks Platform Engineer

Minneapolis, MN

Responsible for deploying and managing Wipro’s enterprise data platform by automating the entire data ecosystem as code.

• Maintain reusable Terraform modules to deploy multi‑region Databricks work spaces from scratch.
• Link Databricks work spaces with foundational cloud assets, such as AWS VPCs/IAM or Azure VNets/Private Endpoints.
• Provision secure cloud storage (AWS S3, Azure ADLS Gen2) and define scalable cluster configurations via code.
• Establish rigorous CI/CD workflows for Git‑driven infrastructure deployments using Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI, or Azure Dev Ops.
• Automate data governance architectures, managing Unity Catalog, schemas, and external locations via the Databricks Terraform provider.
• Configure SCIM provisioning, Service Principals, and Group memberships to enforce least privilege.
• Programmatically sync cloud secret managers (AWS Secrets Manager, Azure Key Vault) with Databricks secret scopes.
• Design and enforce cluster policies via IaC to control instance types, auto‑termination rules, and spot/on‑demand ratios.
• Set up automated workspace monitoring, log delivery, and budget alerts to keep infrastructure cost‑efficient.

• 8‑10 years of experience with Databricks, including production deployments.
• Proficient with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Experience provisioning and managing resources in AWS and Azure.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Git‑based workflow automation.
• Understanding of data governance, Unity Catalog, SCIM, secrets management, and cost optimization.

• Salary range: $80,000 to $158,000, dependent on location, experience, and minimum wage obligations.
