As our data capabilities continue to evolve, we’re seeking a Data Engineer who is excited to design, build, optimize, and support the systems that make data meaningful, reliable, and scalable. This role plays a critical part in advancing our data platform, modernizing core data infrastructure, enabling innovation, and ensuring the accuracy, integrity and reliability of the insights we deliver.
What You’ll DoAs a Data Engineer at HAI, you will play a key role in building and maintaining the data systems that support our internal operations and client-facing solutions.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integration workflows across multiple data sources, including data exchange and publication workflows.
- Own and evolve core data infrastructure, including data warehouse/lakehouse architecture, reporting environments, and supporting systems
- Ensure and improve data quality, reliability, and performance through validation, monitoring, issue resolution, and support of production data processes.
- Lead technical execution on data solutions by translating business needs into scalable, practical designs and clearly documenting technical solutions and architecture.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the data platform to ensure stability, efficiency, scalability, and reliable delivery of client-facing data solutions.
- Drive improvements in automation, data processes, system documentation, and overall platform design to support growth and innovation.
This is a hands‑on role where you will work across the data lifecycle, building systems, solving complex problems, supporting critical data operations, and helping evolve HAI’s data capabilities as we continue to scale.
What You’ll Bring- Proven experience in data engineering: 5+ years building and maintaining data pipelines, integration workflows, and data warehouse environments. Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), SSIS, or similar ETL/ELT technologies preferred.
- Strong SQL and database skills: Experience developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting queries, transformations, stored procedures, and database objects. Experience working within SQL Server environments, preferred.
- Experience with database design and architecture: Ability to design scalable data models and structure data for performance, maintainability, and long-term support.
- Database performance and optimization expertise: Experience with indexing strategies, query performance tuning, data access management, and troubleshooting complex data environments.
- Experience with modern data platforms and tools: Cloud platforms (Azure, Fabric, or similar), EL/ELT tools, and relational/non‑relational databases, and reporting technologies such as Power BI, SSAS, or SSRS.
- Systems thinking and solution design: Ability to build scalable, maintainable data solutions aligned to business needs while balancing performance, usability, and long‑term supportability.
- Data quality and reliability focus: Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, consistency, validation, and production readiness.
- Troubleshooting and problem‑solving mindset:
Enjoys diagnosing complex technical issues, identifying root causes, and working through solutions across systems, processes, and data environments. - Documentation and technical communication:
Able to clearly document systems, data flows, architecture, and technical processes while communicating effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. - Collaborative and practical mindset: Comfortable working across teams, supporting operational needs, and contributing wherever technical expertise can add value.
