Description
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to support a high-visibility regulatory initiative focused on the Consolidated Audit Trail (CAT). This is a critical long-term role supporting the development and enhancement of a CAT Supervisory Tool that helps monitor, identify, and resolve securities trade reporting errors before they are submitted to FINRA. The Consolidated Audit Trail serves as the industry's comprehensive record of securities trading activity, providing regulators with the ability to track the lifecycle of a trade and the ownership of securities as they move through the market.
This project is focused on developing a supervisory database and workflow solution that enables users to identify reporting errors, manage remediation activities, and track issue resolution through completion. The ideal candidate will bring prior CAT experience, strong data analysis capabilities, and the confidence to independently drive discussions, challenge assumptions when appropriate, and own deliverables from inception through implementation.
Key Responsibilities Serve as the lead Business Systems Analyst supporting Phase 2 of the CAT Supervisory Tool initiative. Partner with business stakeholders, technology teams, and third-party vendors to gather, analyze, document, and refine business and technical requirements. Support the enhancement of a supervisory platform designed to identify, track, and resolve CAT trade reporting errors. Define and document workflow requirements that provide visibility into reporting issues, ownership, remediation activities, and resolution tracking.
Analyze large-scale file transfers and data integration processes supporting CAT reporting. Perform data mapping, data lineage analysis, and field-level validation to ensure reporting accuracy and regulatory compliance. Utilize SQL to analyze data, investigate issues, validate reporting outputs, and support testing efforts. Create business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and test cases. Support end-to-end testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and defect management activities.
Work closely with stakeholders to investigate data quality issues and identify root causes. Leverage AI tools to accelerate requirements summarization, user story creation, requirements documentation, and test case development. Drive meetings and decision-making discussions while ensuring project objectives and timelines are met. Serve as a long-term subject matter resource for CAT reporting and supervisory processes.
