10 is currently seeking a Linux Operating System Engineer
- Hybrid position with a Major Financial Services Firm located in Minneapolis, MN. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. Compensation: $60.83 - $63.36 per hour, W2, based on qualifications.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Linux Operating System Engineer to manage, maintain, and support an enterprise Linux infrastructure across both on-premises data centers and AWS cloud environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL
8) administration, automation, troubleshooting, and IT Service Management processes utilizing ITIL best practices and Service Now.

• Administer, maintain, and support RHEL 8 servers in both On-Premises and AWS environments
• Perform Linux server provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management
• Manage system performance, capacity planning, and availability to ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs)
• Monitor infrastructure health and proactively address performance bottlenecks and operational risks
• Troubleshoot complex Linux OS, application, storage, and network-related issues
• Implement OS hardening, security controls, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements
• Manage AWS-based Linux workloads, including EC2 instances, EBS storage, security groups, and cloud networking components
• Collaborate with application, database, network, and security teams to resolve incidents and support business services
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, or Ansible to streamline operational tasks
• Execute change, incident, problem, and request management activities in accordance with ITIL processes using Service Now
• Participate in on-call support and major incident management activities as required

• 5-10 years of Linux system administration experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), specifically RHEL 8
• Proficiency in system installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting
• Experience with Bash, Python, or Perl/Ansible scripting for automating administration tasks
• Strong knowledge of Linux processes, memory management, file systems, networking, and kernel concepts
• Ability to analyze logs, identify root causes, and resolve performance or availability issues
• Knowledge of Linux security including hardening, user/access management, SELinux, and vulnerability remediation
• Hands-on experience supporting Linux workloads in AWS Cloud (EC2, EBS, VPC, IAM, etc.)
• Strong understanding of the ITIL Framework and practical experience with Service Now
