About the Job

Serve as an analyst and business lead for system-wide enterprise level academic/event scheduling system. Provide software analysis, development and maintenance support for the 25

Live system in the Office of Classroom Management. Support user interface for 25

Live. Work to identify security and access needs of end users. Execute and/or formulates new queries for data extraction from Scheduling database, People Soft, and/or Data Warehouse to support OCM annual reporting to include utilization reports and summaries. Provide backup for 25

Live System Administrator.

Essential Job Functions

Academic Scheduling Business Process Lead: (40%)

● Conduct system wide academic scheduling optimizations and final exam batch scheduling: gather and analyze user requirements; review user requests; provide recommendations with appropriate technical solutions to meet business requirements; conduct optimizations.

● Lead work-flow for schedule of classes production: maintain in-depth knowledge of all People Soft Schedule of Classes and 25

Live business processes, and provide technical guidance to less experienced staff. Lead production calendar driven processes.

● Ensure documentation of related business processes and requirements.

● Communicate with users, departments, and campuses to keep them updated.

● Provide updates and perform presentations at user informational sessions and user group conferences.

Scheduling System Support (Maintenance): (25%)

● Maintain 25

Live database for data integrity.

● Perform data-security development, maintenance, and improvement for all user roles and profiles in 25

Live.

● Maintain security, customizations and documentation for users system-wide including, but not limited to: public facing scheduling calendars, roles, forms, pricing formulas, etc.

● Work with 25

Live System Administrator, vendors, and users to develop and test 25

Live upgrades and bundles: provide quality control through appropriate testing, create test conditions, performs testing, reports defects, etc.

● Function as application expert (second tier support) for help-line staff system-wide.

● Represent user perspective on design and interface changes to the system.

● Work closely with the Scheduling team to share understanding.

● Provide backup for the 25

Live system administrator as needed.

● Work with management to communicate, share concerns, and software impacts.

Report Development and Maintenance: (25%)

● Organize and maintains security for delivered and customized reports for end users.

● Use established processes and procedures to extract data and prepare Space Utilization reports at the end of each semester for publication on OCM website.

● Prepare and run ad hoc queries and reports as requested utilizing People Soft Query, Data Warehouse, 25

Live, etc.

● Evaluate the ongoing development of UM Analytics and any other innovative tools to assess their benefits to OCM with an eye for replacing current reporting methods.

● Demonstrate good judgment, sound decision-making, and professional expertise in support of OCM's reporting objectives.

Other Duties: (10%)

● Gain and maintain knowledge of tools used to support enterprise systems (i.e., SQL, People Tools, workflow, and web tools).

● Collaborate with University community on scheduling and software needs, including study space application.

● Represent OCM on related committees and task forces.

● Work effectively with other ASR staff.

● Perform individual development planning.

● Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications (Core Competencies)

● At least three years experience with scheduling software systems.
