Business Analyst

Immediate need for a talented Business Analyst. This is a 06 Months Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Minneapolis MN (Onsite).

Job
-23654 Pay Range: $60 - $64/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Requirements Elicitation & Business Process Discovery
  • Lead requirements-gathering sessions with HR, Payroll, Talent, Recruiting, and operational stakeholders across multiple countries and regions.
  • Facilitate workshops to understand current-state business processes, regulatory requirements, policy variations, and operational needs.
  • Identify differences between country-specific requirements and established Workday design standards.
  • Conduct gap assessments and document business process, policy, and system impacts.
  • Drive discussions to resolve ambiguity and obtain stakeholder decisions required for delivery.
  • Functional Analysis & Documentation
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and configuration-ready requirements.
  • Create and maintain:
    • Business requirements documents
    • Process maps
    • User stories
    • Decision logs
    • Requirements traceability matrices
    • Country-specific delta documentation
    • Test scenarios and acceptance criteria
  • Ensure requirements are clearly understood by configuration analysts, integration teams, and testing resources.
  • Maintain complete traceability from business requirement through implementation and testing.
  • Global Stakeholder Leadership
  • Serve as primary liaison between regional business stakeholders and implementation teams.
  • Coordinate discussions across Europe, APAC, and North America to achieve alignment on global processes.
  • Facilitate working sessions, solution reviews, design reviews, and decision forums.
  • Escalate unresolved decisions and risks to program leadership.
  • Build consensus among stakeholders with competing business, regulatory, or operational needs.
  • Workstream Coordination
  • Coordinate requirements activities across multiple functional areas, including:
    • Core HCM
    • Recruiting
    • Onboarding
    • Talent
    • Compensation
    • Time and Absence
    • Payroll
    • Learning
  • Maintain and manage a centralized requirements backlog and country delta log.
  • Track open issues, risks, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Ensure work streams remain aligned to program milestones and implementation timelines.
  • Testing & Readiness Support
  • Support development of testing strategies, test cases, and user acceptance testing scenarios.
  • Validate that delivered solutions meet documented business requirements.
  • Assist in triaging defects and determining root-cause ownership.
  • Support deployment readiness activities and transition to production support teams.
  • Deliverables
  • The contractor will be expected to produce the following deliverables throughout the engagement:
    • Country requirements assessments
    • Process flow documentation
    • Functional requirements packages
    • Configuration-ready user stories
    • Country delta logs
    • Decision logs
    • Requirements traceability matrices
    • Testing scenarios and acceptance criteria
    • Status updates and stakeholder communications
    • Risk and dependency tracking documentation
    Key Requirements and Technology

    Experience:
    • Must have skills: 5 years of business analysis, functional consulting, or HR systems implementation experience.
    • Demonstrated experience facilitating requirements workshops with global stakeholders.
    • Experience translating business processes into system requirements for enterprise platforms.
    • Experience supporting global HR, Talent, Recruiting, Payroll, or Workforce Management initiatives.
    • Strong ability to document complex processes and convert business needs into executable requirements.
    • Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders and driving decisions in ambiguous environments.
    • Exceptional facilitation, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Experience supporting Workday implementations or major Workday transformation programs.
    • Experience working with multi-country HR processes and regional regulatory requirements.
    • Experience supporting international HR transformations involving Europe and APAC populations.
    • Experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
    • Familiarity with Workday HCM, Recruiting, Onboarding, Talent, Compensation, Payroll, Time, Absence, or Learning modules.
    • Experience creating requirements for configuration teams rather than performing direct system configuration.
